History & Mission Statement

The Merrill Historical Society was organized in 1978 and is going strong 32 years later with over 500 members.  We have embraced our vision to help individuals of the Merrill area and elsewhere engage the past in new and exciting ways, foster partnerships, mutual growth, and learning.

The future Merrill History & Culture Center will be a one-of-a-kind community resource dedicated to:
Preserving the stories and lessons of the past that tie us to each other, give us a sense of place, and in form our future;
and
Encouraging the educational, artistic, cultural and commercial interest of Merrill through partnerships with other community organizations.
